Bob Russell, Creative Director, is the creative core of Russell Branding, and has headed creative & design firms for the past three decades in Canada and in the United States. He is responsible for brand & design strategy and the agency’s creative output.
Bob has lead brand strategy & design projects across many business sectors including consumer goods, financial services, telecommunications, technology, health and beauty, sports and leisure, spirits and hospitality. Bob’s clients have included Charles River Venture, Moosehead Breweries, Accelio (Adobe), Bell, Fidelity Investments, Nestlé, Kellogg and RSA Security (an EMC2 Company).
His work has been published in Print, Communication Arts, Design Arts Quarterly, Financial Post, Marketing Magazine, and Strategy Magazine.
Bob’s love of Telemark skiing and mountain biking keep him outdoors the rest of the time.
Peter Heywood, Brand Strategy, is a branding veteran widely recognized for his ability to provide strategic brand direction to companies in today’s fast-changing markets. Peter provides the strategic foundation for all Russell Branding initiatives, to which he applies his considerable sector knowledge and expertise to the creation of effective brand strategies & positioning for our clients.
In his senior management roles with leading brand agencies, Peter has led brand research and strategy activities and worked closely with the creative teams charged with bringing clients’ brands to life across all touch points. He has worked in a variety
of sectors, in particular financial services, information technology and retail.
Trained as an architect, Peter spent many years in the profession as principal of his own practice prior to changing paths. Peter has spoken on the strategic power of brands to numerous audiences across the country and has served on the steering committees of innovation task forces at provincial and federal government levels.
Peter enjoys being “on the water” at 5:30am training for masters level competitive rowing in 4 and 8 man shells. We call him “The Professor”.

Micaela Degan Wilson, Brand Strategy, has partnered with Bob Russell since 1998. She is valued for her quick grasp of branding challenges on a holistic level, paired with an ability to scale the view into streamlined solutions without sacrifice to the integrity of the project.
Her role in their collaboration concerns core brand image development: audits, research, positioning, brand platforms on the strategic side, naming and tagline development on the creative. Some of their shared clients include exciting start-ups such as Burst Media, Mercator, Groove Networks, Authoria and Advanced Electron Beams, as well as, the industry giants Analog Devices, Staples and Fidelity Investments.
Prior to Russell Branding, Micaela was a strategist for BrandEquity International where she distinguished herself by securing and leading the largest project in the firm’s history, an international brand development program for the Home Diagnostic Division of Abbot Laboratories and its multiple products.
Micaela never saw an arts cause she didn’t like; her latest is independent film which she supports as a board member for the Filmmakers Collaborative.

Nicole Whittle, Marketing, provides strategic marketing direction for clients in North America, South America and Europe, and provides Russell Branding with the strategic marketing clients require to make their branding goals a reality. She builds and grows strong relationships with clients that, in turn, help them do the same with their clients.
Nicole has 15 years of marketing experience that has led to long-term relationships with clients including Ontario Lottery & Gaming, Nikon, McNeill, Allergan and Lipitor; the world’s #1 prescribed medication in the world. Her work has garnered her awards from London International Advertising, New York Festivals Advertising and the Canadian Marketing Association.
Time with family and friends is Nicole’s other passion.

Jess Russell, Client Strategy, brings ten years of project leadership, client service and communications skills to Russell Branding. She brings all business aspects of the partnership together focusing on our client’s business.
Jess spent five years in the commercial construction industry with Brookfield Properties and Great West Life Realty Advisors, and a further five years coordinating one of Canada’s leading engineering companies. Her business background and ease with clients provides support to the team.
Teaching Pilates & Spinning in Stowe keep her busy.
Tim Timlek, Web Development, provides, with his Doodad partner Ryan, creative interaction, motion graphics and innovative web development for Russell Branding. He provides insight as to the new directions web development is taking and how to best apply it in a meaningful way to each client’s needs.
Tim is the creative director and founder of Doodad Media, providing creative, differentiated web programs for over ten years. He brings his love and passion for motion graphics to each project, including work for the National Art Gallery of Canada, The Bombay Company, Burst Media and Jagermeister.
Although he’s too modest to say it, he’s quite an accomplished rock drummer, spending his days coding, and his nights performing, feeding his music passion.
